We have extremely fond memories of Sarah's birth and it couldn't have been any better. I went 8 days past my due date and they felt like the longest days of my life! The early stages of labour began on the Tuesday and we went to hospital early on the Wednesday morning. I was fully aware that I was in labour and felt the contractions, although probably not as much as an able-bodied woman would. There was no panic and we had a leisurely breakfast and cup of tea before James drove us to the hospital! Luckily, the birthing pool was available when we arrived and after 4 hours in the pool, our little girl was born!
